Questions About Pollution

Pollution is a harmful and poisonous substance or thing that hurts the environment.

The three pollutants  we  are learning about are acid rain, plant fertilizer, and road salt.

Acid rain affects plant by changing the soil, kills baby plants, and is basically poison to plants roots.

When road salt gets splashed it goes down to lakes and streams so it can harm aquatic plants and animals.

Fertilizer has nitrogen in it so when it goes into the ocean all that nitrogen gets released into the ocean causing marine plants and algae grow and as the algae grows it releases harmful toxins.

We are trying to put pollutants into rye grass to see what pollutant makes the most damage.

Conserve energy, remember to turn off lights, computers, and electric appliances when not in use.
